did they ever think, that people like me who order deliver are just looking for a quick dinner and only have a 20 and a 5, and its not fault that the order is 24 and they only get 1 for a tip
i just ordered chinese food and i know the guy came at 11:10pm at night so i should tip more, but 1 is all thats left for tip and i cant do anything about that. i got a jar of nickles, you want me to offer him that?I know delivery people hate when i dont tip, BUT?
if i do not have small money for a tip i give whatever bill i have and ask what amount of money i expect as a change. like if u have your bill 24 u can give him 50 and tell him "give me back 30"
ps. was reading some answers. "poor person gets dragged to your door at 11 pm"? what re u people, insane? IT IS HIS JOB! HE GETS PAYED salary for staying awake at night and dragging his a's's to your door. he doesn't like staying at night dragging his a's's to someone's doors - he better change a job
You know, it is acceptable to ask for change in order to tip with.
Also, think of the tip as part of the cost of the food. Perhaps if you can't afford to tip for the service they provided you, then you can't afford the meal.I know delivery people hate when i dont tip, BUT?
meh, it happens. I doubt the nickles would look much better.
--- ------ ------ --------- ----
What i mean to say is that im sure the guy will get over it. And if you handed him a bunch of nickles he would still be just as upset. But yes, you should plan better. Order less or something.
Yeah who cares if they piss in your food and **** sauce your orange chicken.I know delivery people hate when i dont tip, BUT?
If it was me, and I knew my funds were limited, I would order less- that way I could give the delivery person a proper tip. I consider the tip as part of the cost. If I cannot tip appropriately, I do not order.
Besides, you don't want to piss off the delivery person. You never know if you're going to get a 'special delivery' next time- if you catch my drift.
Tip well, and they will ALWAYS take good care of you. They will remember you as a good tipper, and give you GREAT service. Tip badly, and you're asking for trouble.
Well if I was expecting a tip I'd be mad if I didn't get paid what I expected, but life goes on, there will be more customers who will tip better.
At least you made the effort to tip. Back in the day I delivered to this guy. He lived out in the sticks so it took a bit of time to get there. Huge house, detached garage with a bus conversion RV parked next to it and next to that a helicopter. The cheap bastard gave me a check for the exact amount. I guess that's how he was able to afford all the goodies. Stiff the delivery guy. Then our store would deliver to a church and they would resell the stuff to the bingo players. They wouldn't tip either.
So like I said at least you made the effort.
"BUT"- is NO excuse !!! You LEARN to plan ahead... Stick a $ in a "Tip Jar" at Home a few times a week- if you're gonna drag the poor Delivery Person out to your House in the middle of the Night. If THAT's too much of an "effort" -then go out %26amp; get the food Yourself... Maybe the "tip"- will seem "worth it" to You -THEN !!! :o
Quick dinner brought by a fast driver who never thought you only had a 20 and a 5. He should be glad you taught him that lesson on the job. A jar of nickles for the slave labor would be too kind. Those guys get shot and robbed for their money.
if you are visiting regularly at a place , see the reaction when you tip more and less . then acordingly you can change your attitude .
