I am MADDEr then i have EVER been!!!!!!!!!!! can i sue the restaurant... so mad i am CRYING?

okay so i am so mad i could kill. i am in a hotel by myself and im here in a city i dont know well without a car. so my only option for lunch was to ride a bus or get delivery and i'm not comftorble with the bus system here. Okay so I went online and found a good looking chinese restaurant and ordered. my order was like 7 dollars and then the 4 dollar delivery charge.

well then it got here and i went down to the hotel lobby to pick it up. the delivery guy said "that'll be thirty dollars." i said no, my order was only 7 dollars. he said my order was only 7 dollars but there is a 30 dollar minimum! he showed it to me on the menu and i said well that is NOT on the online version of the menu.

and so we fought and yelled and he said that if I didnt pay the thirty dollars he would call the police and the people in the hotel lobby said they would call security to remove me from the hotel. i ended up getting out the money and i threw it in his face and didn't tip because i was so mad. then i dumped out the food onto the floor in front of him and stormed back to my room livid.

anyway i am PISSED, is there a way i can sue the restaurant or the hotel even? they made an idiot out of me in public and i am willing to take this to the courts. i was ROBBED of at least 20 dollars.I am MADDEr then i have EVER been!!!!!!!!!!! can i sue the restaurant... so mad i am CRYING?
Get over your hissy fit; you're now out $30 %26amp; your food.

I hope you enjoyed your little tantrum, your bad behaviour has cost you.

It was your behaviour which made you look like an idiot.

You can catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

It will cost you far more money to retain a lawyer, all you will get is your $30.

You could contact them again %26amp; tell them they should have informed you.
Put your ego away and exercise some self-control. So you lost $20. Big deal! Consider it a cheap lesson learned. I'll bet I know plenty of people who would have given anything to eat what you threw on the floor. Grow up and get your priorities in order. AND, don't expect to stay at that hotel again. I'm certain they've already had enough of your antics and would prefer you didn't return.I am MADDEr then i have EVER been!!!!!!!!!!! can i sue the restaurant... so mad i am CRYING?
What was the name of the restaurant? Chances are the minimum cost for delivery was in small print at the bottom of the page.

This is a really stupid thing to press charges for. Call your loss, and learn from it, next time read the fine print carefully and call the restaurant to make your order instead.
Are you sure that the $30 minimum wasn't on the online menu? I am so sorry that this happened to you. This really sucks!

I would call an attorney. There's no harm in getting some free legal advice. Good luck to you, and I hope you get to eat very soon.I am MADDEr then i have EVER been!!!!!!!!!!! can i sue the restaurant... so mad i am CRYING?
grow up! people are dying out there and you want to sue a restaurant for 20 dollars??? seriously? okay, they stole from you but it's not like it changed your life dramatically, DID it?? come on, you're old enough to think for yourself.
You asked this same crap yesterday concerning being stuck at the airport. Next time you troll, change your screen name.
Sorry. Wrong forum for that question. Hope that doesn't set you off even more. God bless.
take it to God and go in peace, turn the other cheek
idk. where did this happen? if it's not on the on-line menu, you probably have a case. but i'm not an attorney.
bahaha so you dont notice the min. delivery fee, and instead of just refusing to pay and walking away, you start yelling at the delivery guy, the hotel staff threatens to have you thrown out, and you give the delivery guy the money he asked for? how is this not all preventable by you at any point?

1. $$ min. are common, you should pay better attention when ordering food for delivery, and ask for total over the phone.

2. just walk away, no one can make you give them your money unless you take the food.

3. DONT YELL AT PEOPLE. I really get the feeling the staff just wanted you to go away and stop making a scene.

4. again, you really didn't have to give him your money. And if the hotel tried to throw you out over not paying a crazy delivery fee you shouldn't have to pay (doubt it, its not there business, why would they lose you as a customer over it?), call the cops because its a scam and the hotel staff is getting a cut.
i know someone who went to turkey on a holiday.

he's christian. Anyway, he was approached by a couple of restaurant people outside a restaurant. He went in, couldn't u/stand the menu and so he simply ordered coffee.

guess how much the bill was ... USD100 !

my poor friend realised that if he didn't pay up, there will be TROUBLE. Rogues they were.

He quietly paid up and left. It was the most expensive cup of coffee he ever had and never will forget.

and you know, these Made in China electronics stuff ?

i bought a battery operated clock and after 3 days ... it stopped working.

yep ... they grow rich in business .. this way.
It sounds like you were scammed. You should have stood your ground and told the delivery person to go ahead and call the police. There would have been nothing the police could have done IF he had even called them, which I am positive he would not have done.

If you were causing a scene in the lobby, I can understand that they would get upset with you, particularly if they had asked you to stop and you kept on. If it was a classy hotel, they should have handled it all with tact to the satisfaction of all parties, that is, the delivery taking what you offered and settling it.

Is there anything you can do? I doubt it if any lawyer would accept it, but you could try.

What you can do is write a well composed letter to the owner of the hotel and restaurant. State your case without resorting to nastiness or name calling. That strengthens your position. If you go overboard, I promise you your letter will go in the garbage.

If you don't get satisfaction that way, then go online and lookup the names of both places. There are sites where you can write about your experience. Other people will read your negative comments and they will lose business. You can also write letters to the editorial page of the local newspapers. You can also file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau online. All of those have the potential of causing them to lose customers which hits them right where it hurts - in their wallets.

Good luck.
"they made an idiot out of me in public"

Correction: YOU made an idiot out of yourself. If you had handled that like an adult, you might have got somewhere with it. If it was not on the website about the $30, THAT would have been your argument and you would have had people understanding why you were upset.

Then you dump the food on the floor in front of him? Let's see who lost out.

Who didn't get to eat? You

Who lost out on $30 You

Who look like they needed anger management? Yo

Who got paid, which is their main goal? The restaurant.

Sue the hotel for what? You should be happy they didn't kick you out. Next time state your facts, not your attitude.
First, you were not robbed. you gave him your money on free will. Cant do a thing about it.

What you should have done:

when he said it will be 30 dollars, explain that the website did not disclose that and could he call his manager to get an OK to waive the minimum charge. If that happens, great. If not, then refuse the food. If he wants to call the police, that's fine...what are they going to do? you haven't paid, he still has the food...where is the crime? And, note to self...dumping the food on the floor did nothing more than show the hotel staff that you had a sudden attack of bad manners. It was not their fault the delivery boy pissed you off. I completely understand that you were livid and wanted to choke that guy...but a little decorum next time would suit the situation better...and grant you a better outcome.
