Am I racist for thinking this?

I have been a delivery man for a pizza place in a low key suburban town. Naturally, when I hear about delivery people getting murdered or robbed, I want to read more about it.



So there has been multiple articles since 2000, where Chinese restaurants have been targeted. Mostly teenagers, who defend their case by saying they wanted Air Jordans, who lure the delivery man by ordering food, then kill them and steal their wallets. They are also African American in almost every single case so far. (I know because the name was Shaniqua Brown).



Now the question. When I walk around the streets at night, I get very nervous when I walk by a casually dressed African American, as opposed to a white person, just because most crimes I hear about are committed by blacks, just look at the NFL too...Am I racist? Do some of you feel the same way? Also, why do you think Chinese restaurants as targets?Am I racist for thinking this?
Your not a "racist" for thinking anything, their your "thoughts" if you say them to other people you will be thought of as racist.



Best advice i would give you is pack up the "pizza" job, you don`t want to be feeling the way you do all the time. and for the money you earn you have to ask yourself is it worth the risk........because in time it will be your turn to be attacked.



The Chiness restaurants have always been seen as "easy targets" and when bad luck comes they way, they don`t seem to make to much fuss about it........so they get overlooked by the law.

Based on your explanation you have probable cause/reason other than just the color of skin, but what is going on in your environment.



You should be staying alert for the poor of all races, as I'm sure the African Americans in your community aren't the only ones that would steal to buy Jordans.



Make sure you don't let your guard down around white people, if I were you I would just stay alert at all times.





Another useful thing to do is see if the media is reporting the news fairly. Last thing you'd want is a white person to kill you for your money just because you didn't know the media was being biased lol.

poor people are the ones who tend to commit the most crimes. Unfortunately, a larger of black people are poorer than other ethnic groups.



However, that doesn't meant that only black people will jump you or that you need to be nervous when passing a black man. Just be watchful of anyone that passes you by. I'm sure that crimses aren't limited to blacks...you may never know who may jump you
