My mum is planning to start a very small homemade food delivery just in the area around where we live (in australia). How much do you think a takeaway container-sized box of food should cost? The food will comprise of rice, some meat and vegies, made at home and then delivered personally. And is there anything my mum should take into consideration before starting this business, like a food license or anything?
Thanks in advance.Typical Price of Chinese Homemade Food?
Hi,
I'm in Melbourne so the prices may be a little lower higher depending on what other similiar services are available locally.
Prices range from 6 dollars and upwards.
For 6 dollars per takeaway box, the delivery service will bring a set dish to your home everynight.
If you plan to eat out you just call them and they can skip a night.
Generally there is a 1 week minimum to get this lower rate.
If customers want it occasionally then from 8 dollars for a single box.
Personally if the food was good, I would pay up to 10 dollars for a delivered meal.
Food license - you need to check with the state authority on rules and regulations.
