Do you tip?

I notice here in the bronx, the delivery guy runs off before I can even tip them, they often dont speak good english, maybe they don't know they should get tips. Do people even tip the pizza or Chinese food delivery guy anymore? I don't know if i should even do it anymore, doesn't seem like they care either way.



Also when you go to All-you-can eat, do you tip there also?Do you tip?
I live in the Bronx too...and yep, I do notice this.



Usually I give them the money for the delivery but then I hold my hand up and then tell them "for you" (point at them when doing this) and give them their tip.



Or if you know what the bill is, factor in the tip right there (generally 10%, add more if the delivery comes fast) and just hand him the money. One word of advice, if a delivery guy is familiar with you and knows you are a good tipper, he will go deliver your item FIRST! (so I've been told by other delivery guys)



But YES! Definitely tip them! They don't get much money.



Also with all-you-can-eat, you tip the "server" (the ones who give you plates, refill your drinks and takes away the dishes). Generally speaking it's the 15% ( + if the service and food was that good) of the bill....doubling the tax is about 17%.



The only way I tip low (I never NOT tip) is if the service is bad or the server gives an attitude. At that point, I DO tip...but a penny. And if the receipt has a phone number to call regarding service, (usually in places like an Outback, Applebees or Pizzeria Uno) go ahead and call it. They usually throw you coupons for a discounted meal.
i can definitely vouch for getting discounts. i once wrote a complimentary, but with one minor complaint, letter to Blue Water Grill, and they sent me a giftcard for $50. i ended up using it and then spending even more, so they won more than i did!

Do you tip?
At an all you can eat, I think you're only supposed to tip if the servers actually do things for you, like bring you plates and stuff.



As for tipping delivery people, why not give them the money for the food and the tip all at once, that way they can't run off without it?
You can still do it as a courtesy, but if they run off too fast don't feel bad about them not receiving it. It's better than here (Maryland), where delivery people outright ASK for a tip when they're handing you your change. The audacity!!Do you tip?
yes tip the delivery guy. Include tip when you pay bill. Tell them to keep the change. Good tippers get their delivery first.



All you can eat. I always leave a few dollars for the person who kept clearing the table.
