What is a proper tip for food delivery?

What is a proper tip to give for food delivery such as pizza, diners, and chinese food? I usually give around $2 or round up to the closest two dollars. What do you think is appropriate? Thanks. What is a proper tip for food delivery?
i usually give 3 bucks and they all seem really happy with it.
Well consider this:

They make minimum wage, if that. The delivery charge is sometimes theirs, sometimes the restaurant keeps 1/2 of it and the drivers use their own personal vehicles. Keep in mind the distance from the restaurant to your house, considering gas which they have to pay out of pocket. If you usually give $2 tip to a pizza delivery guy that comes from 2 blocks away, it's not fair for the chinese delivery guy who drives 4 miles to you just for the same $2.

I personally always tip 20% of the total bill or a little more, like I would a waitress. They went through the same trouble like a server, if not more, getting the food to you. What is a proper tip for food delivery?
$2.00
Home delivery for anything, we give $2.00What is a proper tip for food delivery?
It depends on whether or not they charge for the delivery. If it's a free delivery $2 is good. But a LOT of places in my area add a delivery charge of as much a $2.50. That is how the drivers get paid. I usually only give them a buck.
standard tipping calls for 15-20%, but with pizza and the such, I normally do $1 per item
when we order from work we all throw a dollar the drivers way. but at home i usually give a dollar and change to two dollars. if the bill was 18.64 then he/ she would get 1..36
